Hi, I am Anju Arora.
I am an educationist, educator, trainer & a Parenting Coach as well. I have been working in the educational domain for more than 28years in various roles and responsibilities. From an educator to the Vice Principal and then on to the Founder Principal of a leading K-12 CBSE School for 16 long years, currently I am working as the Director Academics at The Rose Orchid World School, a K-12 CBSE School at Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh, India.
I have been working in close connection with people (teachers, students & parents) and came to realize that most of the people are capable of performing better. They just need certain insights, direction, training & hand holding, to perform to their best. So, I train and coach teachers, students and parents on various issues.
I o help parents respond effectively to the needs and issues of their children.
Being in direct touch with children across the ages, I could very easily see and identify that the new contexts… urbanization, nuclear families, both parents working, easy access to technology, & now the all pervading Social Media… this all is taking toll on young impressionable minds; our children, the Future Generation.
Parents’ unrealistic expectations from children in the form of high marks, the desire to educate children in the best of public schools and sending them off to tuitions in the evening, is actually not serving the purpose for majority of parents and children. This is where I felt the need to step in.
As a Parenting Coach, my mission is to reach out to young parents to support them on their journey of being effective parents. Today more than ever, it is the parents who need to be made aware…on issues like;
what to expect from children at what age,
how to ensure age appropriate behaviours,
what to do so that their children remain ahead of the learning curve
how to appreciate that all children are uniquely talented so not to expect the same from everyone,
how to ensure that technology is not impeding the growth of their children
what to do so that their teens are growing into responsible adults
how to support children to choose the correct career based on their intelligence, interest and aptitude rather on parental notion or societal norms,
how to appreciate that values are equally important along with expecting good grades and seeking admissions into big colleges; & much more.
As I see in this new era, in order to have healthy, happy families and successful citizens, we have to refocus at homes where the future is being raised. It is never about the children, it is about those in whose care they are being nurtured. This is where I am currently contributing along with my regular school work. My vision is to contribute to make this world a better place. So along with working in mainstream education directly leading from the front, I am working on the other side as well to bridge the gaps. I believe now is the time to take the challenges of the new times seriously so that our children get the best of both their worlds; family and school. So, I am currently educating, training & coaching parents as well. I empower them to raise responsible, happy & successful children in a stress-free manner.
